Overview

At Seal-Rite, we specialize in sump pumps, sump pits, and back-up valves to protect your home from water damage. Our sump pits, typically 20 gallons (90 liters), are installed in convenient basement locations, either during new construction or as upgrades, with weeping tile lines discharging into them and a submersible pump ejecting water outside during heavy rains. Many homeowners with sewer-connected weeping tiles install sump pits to divert excess water when sewer backup valves close, preventing backups during storms.

More Info

The typical basement floor, about 4 inches thick, rests on a layer of pea gravel over clay, designed to allow water and pressure relief; some contractors drill small holes in sump pits to facilitate drainage, but caution is advised to prevent soil shrinkage and structural issues. Additionally, we offer back-up valves—one-way flaps that prevent sewer water from entering the basement during a backup—and pop-up valves that activate with rising water levels, providing effective protection.
